As part of our ongoing MSI Task Force initiative supported by Academic Affairs and the Office of Institutional Diversity, the team recently hosted an exciting and impactful hackathon, which was done in collaboration with University Information Technology. The event, aptly named “Data Geeks for Equity,” brought together data enthusiasts from across the university to dive deep into data analysis and uncover insights to better serve minority students at OSU.
Participants enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere filled with engaging activities, delicious pizza, and plenty of fun. The hackathon provided a unique opportunity for attendees to collaborate, innovate, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
The primary goal was to identify and understand the gaps in OSU's current systems and processes, ensuring that we can enhance our support for minority students. The collective efforts and brilliant ideas generated during the event have set a strong foundation for future improvements.
At EPPMO, we are proud of the success of the “Data Geeks for Equity” hackathon and look forward to continuing our work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment at OSU, and continuing strong partnership with Academic Affairs, Office of Institutional Diversity and University Information Technology.
